Immanuel and the Incarnation

One of Jesus' disciples, John, tells us in his account of Jesus' life that the Word (Jesus), who was God, "became flesh and took up residence among us" (John 1:1,14). What an amazing thought, to think that God himself became human and came to live among us! That's what we celebrate during the Christmas season: the Son coming to earth in the form of a baby. From Advent through January 2017, we're going to ask the question, "Why?": Why did God become human? And what purpose did it serve? The answer will amaze you.
