Characters of Christmas

The Christmas account gives us a look into the lives of a few men and women who saw first-hand the birth of Jesus. "The Characters of Christmas" is a new advent series highlighting the lives and stories of five real people who were on the scene when our Savior was born.

"Shepherds: The First Evangelists" | Luke 2:8-20

Angelic visits, the glory of God shining bright, a choir of heavenly hosts. The birth of a Savior is worthy of all these things. But why did it all happen in the company of a few no-name shepherds? This Christmas account of the appearance to the shepheds illustrates that the good news of Jesus Christ really is for all people

"Herod: The Throne Hog" | Matthew 2:1-12, 16-18
December 16, 2012 | Pastor Mike

The good news of Christ's birth had finally come to the place you might most expect it: Jerusalem. But King Herod didn't think the news was all that good. Instead, he wanted the term "King" all for himself. Like Herod, most of us have trouble sharing the throne, too.

"Simeon: Watching and Waiting" | Luke 2:22-35

God clearly showed Simeon that when He makes a promise, He is going to come through. And Simeon shows us the proper way to respond to Christ's birth.
