Jesus is Better

A three-week series for Advent 2015, exploring how certain characters we read about in the Old Testament were "patterns" of the one who God was going to send to be the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. That's baby's birth on Christmas was the beginning of the Better and Perfect Adam, the Better  and Perfect Abraham, and the Better and Perfect Moses--Jesus Christ, God's Son.

"A Better You" | John 14:12-20

New Year's resolutions are our attempts to make ourselves "better." Jesus tells us he's going to make us better, but it has nothing to do with trying harder--he does it by working through us to bring God glory.

"A Better Moses" | Deuteronomy 18:15-19 & Hebrews 9:15, 23-24
December 13, 2015 | Pastor Mike

Moses' life, in a nutshell, was as a "go-between": a man who stood in the gap between God and his people. And God sent his Son, Jesus to be a much better and perfect go-between for us.

"A Better Abraham" | Romans 4:16-25
December 6, 2015 | Pastor Mike

Abraham is one of the most important men in the whole Old Testament. But his life isn't just a good story--it points forward to the coming of Jesus Christ, through whom God's promise to Abraham would finally be fulfilled.

"A Better Adam" | Romans 5:12-21

Jesus has a lot in common with the first human, Adam. But Jesus isn't just "another Adam"--he's a better, more perfect Adam, who did what none of us could do ourselves.
